Frequently asked questions.

Why do the routes need to changes all the time?

Because if we didn’t, you’d all just keep trying your project forever. Or it could also be that Regular setting keeps climbing fresh, helps you progress, and ensures the wall stays interesting and well-balanced for all levels.

You are all 184cm. Who makes the routes fro all shorties?

Don’t worry, we’ve thought about this. Every now and then we let our elf that we stole from santa set something brilliant just to humble the rest of us. Well i wish. In reality we always test climbs with different heights and body types in mind. A good route setter is capable of coming up with movement that is challenging in other ways and not just reachy.

Why does that one hold always spin?

Tradition. Some mysteries are sacred. Some times the holds wear out and loosen with the hundreds of ascents a route can get in as commercial gym. Also temperature and even moisture in the ear can shrink and expand the wall which can make a hold loose. we do our best to tighten, replace and fix the holds from the start so that they don’t move. But unfortunately there is always the odd one that slips through our eye.

Can i request a route for my exact height reach and body type

Of course! Just bring your own wall, your own holds, and your own route setter. Or a easier way could be just to come and talk or send us a message. We always welcome feedback — while we can’t set for every individual, we aim for variety so everyone finds something that suits their style.

Where do You get inspiration?

Mostly from watching climbers suffer just the right amount. Sometimes from dreams, sometimes from bad holds, and occasionally from that one boulder that felt amazing before we forgot the beta. To quit the jokes inspiration comes from many places — outdoor climbing, competitions, movement ideas we want to explore, or just trying to make something that feels new and fun for the gym’s climbers. We also believe that if we as setters have fun and enjoy the setting process that will transfer to the customer experience.
